Lublin once known under an honourable name of Jerusalem of the Polish Kingdom and the Polish Jerusalem ; the city-symbol, the center of the Jewish autonomy of flourishing Hebrew culture and Yiddish , compared at a time to Prague, Amsterdam, Krakow and Vienna.
